## From the first call to a dry, clean property

1. **Call us**

Tell us what happened. We'll ask a few quick questions and tell you what to do until we get there.

2. **Inspect & measure**

Find the source and map the moisture, including behind walls and under floors.

3. **Stop & protect**

Stop the water, set up containment where it's needed and protect what isn't damaged.

Remove water and damaged materials and dry the structure. Any mold work follows Florida's licensing rules.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do you answer emergency calls 24/7?

Yes. Water damage doesn't keep business hours. Call (728) 233-1041 any time, day or night.

### What areas do you serve?

Palm Beach County and Broward County, plus parts of Miami-Dade County. That includes West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs and Pembroke Pines.

### Are you licensed for mold work in Florida?

Yes. Our founder holds a Florida Mold Assessor license (MRSA5754) and a Florida Mold Remediator license (MRSR5743) from the Florida DBPR. Florida requires these licenses for mold assessment and remediation of areas larger than 10 square feet, and we offer them as separate services.

### Can the same company test for mold and remove it in Florida?

Not on the same property within 12 months. Florida law (s. 468.8419, F.S.) keeps [mold assessment](https://1stclassrestore.com/mold-assessment/) and [mold remediation](https://1stclassrestore.com/mold-remediation/) separate so testing stays honest. We'll tell you which one you need and help you find an independent licensed pro for the other.

### Are estimates free?

Yes. We come out, look at the damage and give you a free on-site estimate before any work starts. For mold, an estimate for remediation work isn't a mold assessment. Assessment is a separate service under Florida law.

### Do you bill my insurance company?

No. You pay us directly, and we don't bill insurance companies or handle insurance claims. We provide the documentation you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

### Do I need to call my insurance company first?

Not before you stop the water. Many homeowners policies list protecting the property from further damage as one of your duties after a loss, so shut off the water and get drying started. Whether and when to file a claim is between you and your insurer, so check your policy or call your agent.

### Do you do repairs or rebuilding after the cleanup?

No. We handle water removal, drying, cleanup, board-up and mold work. We don't do rebuild, reconstruction, drywall or flooring replacement, or roofing, so you'll use a licensed contractor for repairs once the space is dry and clean.

### Are you insured?

Yes. We carry general liability insurance.

### How fast should water damage be dried?

The U.S. EPA advises drying water-damaged materials within 24 to 48 hours to help prevent mold growth. In South Florida's heat and humidity, it's worth calling the same day. See [water damage restoration](https://1stclassrestore.com/water-damage-restoration/) for what happens next.

### Do you work with businesses and property managers?

Yes. We work with property and facility managers, HOAs and condo associations, retail stores, restaurants, offices, medical offices and warehouses, as well as homeowners and condo owners. We can schedule work around your business hours and bill your business directly.

### Is 1st Class Restoration part of 1st Class Facility Services?

Yes. 1st Class Restoration is the restoration brand of 1st Class Facility Services, a veteran-owned company and part of the 1st Class Family of Trades.
